Hello from Vermont! How is Spring treating you where you are? We’re mid-Mud Season up here in the Green Mountain State, from the snow melting up in the mountains, but the Sun’s been emerging at times – a welcome change. And the greenery is just starting to sprout. We are moving forth through the fourth month, April.

Welcome to April 2022! Logical Machines is, as always, here to provide you with speedy & accurate weigh+fill solutions. You have products to package and we can assist you with that.
Since 1994, Logical Machines in Vermont, a small business itself, has provided solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and their weigh+fill packaging needs for dry, free-flowing products. Gravity + Vibration + Logic: The two big coffee shows were a great success. People were happy to be involved with the NCA Virtual Convention in March and were amped up (by being well-caffeinated) to be at a big show in person, in April, after a couple of years of not being able to do so (thanks COVID…).

The highlights from the Spring 2022 National Coffee Data Trends survey are:
- More people drink coffee each day than drink tap or bottled water
- Specialty coffee consumption has bounced back to pre-pandemic levels (and then some)
- Despite this latest survey taking place in winter, cold brewing is still the 3rd most popular method of preparing coffee (after drip coffee makers and single-cup systems)

Popcorn
Popped Popcorn comes in a variety of forms: plain, buttered, kettle corn, and a multitude of flavors that are only limited by the popcorn purveyors’ imaginations. Regardless of the style of free-flowing popcorn, we offer “The Perfect Popcorn Filling Machine”. We can handle popped popcorn and/or popcorn kernels. They require slightly different set-ups, so feel free to speak with Logical Machines to customize a weigh+fill scale system suited to your needs.
Granola
And…our scale systems also do well with free-flowing Granola. It may sound a bit repetitious, but we also offer “The Perfect Granola Filling Machine”. When we refer to free-flowing Granola, we mean to say that it’s not granola clusters. That’s a similar, but different, product that may require a similar, but different, set-up, depending upon the size of the clusters. Regardless, we likely have a granola solution for you.

Vermont is generally divided into six physiographic regions: The Green Mountains, The Vermont Lowlands, the Taconic Mountains, the Valley of Vermont, the Vermont Piedmont, and the Northeast Highlands.
The population of Vermont is a mere ~644,000. We’re 49th in the U.S. in population and 43rd in land area - Vermont’s land area is 9,217 square miles - 76 percent is forested.
We tend to be thought of as a farming State, appropriately. Yet there are a wide variety of start-ups and innovations that have been developed in Vermont. Companies here include:
Ben & Jerry’s, Beta Technologies (battery-powered planes), Burton Snowboards, Kuerig (which was started up in MA, but further developed when Green Mountain Coffee invested in them), and Global Foundries microchip facilities; amongst many others. An impressive list, to be sure.
The State Animal is the Morgan Horse. The Morgan breed is known for its versatility, sturdiness, and reliability and is used for a number of English and Western events.
